Fundraiser

Last Friday Mario took me and Emilia to his school's Bingo night. We had such a fun time. After the first game of bingo Mario got all flustered and erased his board, not knowing that they continued on with the same numbers even after someone wins a bingo. So as I was keeping track of my board and helping him figure out which numbers he was supposed to still have on his board, he wins a bingo! Yes, thanks to me! And we had only been there 5 minutes.

We had a good feeling about our luck that night!

We bought some raffle tickets, too. We each got 6 tickets. I put 2 in Malibu Grand Prix, 2 in Flying Pie Pizza and 2 in Chang's Mongolian Grill. Emilia put 1 in Chang's and 5 in The Glass Butterfly. Mario put all 6 of his in Chang's. We knew we were going to win the Chang's! That's what we were going for.

But guess what? We won EVERYTHING we put tickets in EXCEPT the Chang's. It was hilarious. But me and Emilia were very happy with our winnings! It was really fun.

We also came home with two whole pizza's that they were selling for $5 at the end of the night. And my sweet husband bought a container of cookies and passed them out to all the kids.

And speaking of fundraisers......



My girls at church are selling chocolate covered strawberries for Mother's Day.
If you are interested in buying some they will be available Saturday, May 8th
$6.00 for a beautiful package of 4-5 strawberries.

Have you ever read Bakerella?

I don't think I could actually produce anything as cute as she does. But I do like drooling over her confections. I have considered deleting her from my blog list, since I don't do much baking anymore that's not gluten free. (Because I'm selfish like that and I really only enjoy baking things that I can eat!)

But THIS is one reason why I hesitate to do such a dreadful and final thing like hit delete!

I have never seen such cute, witty and whimsical baking supplies. I've got ideas rolling around in my head and I am going to place an order soon.

Decisions

I'm trying to make some decisions about going to Haiti, which is impossible since I'm waiting on things that are outside of my control. And my continued health issues are causing me an incredible amount of stress. If I can't deal with it in the comforts of my own home, how will I deal with it in a foreign country living under unknown circumstances?

Trust. Faith. Patience.
These are my mantras right now.
